I guess I'm like a year late to the bandwagon, but whatev. I always used to see these pixel IDs around and always wanted to do one of my own. But I never got around to it. Fast-forward to now, and I finally got one done. It was pretty hard to do. I just drew everything in my sketchbook (including the nouveau elements, but not the border, since I'm useless with a ruler) and went over the full figure with the pencil tool. I wanted to add some cool effect on the pen and pencil I'm holding, but I just couldn't come up with anything good. I'm really not fond of the way I colored the hair in the portrait. Also, the highlight's on the wrong side because, when I was drawing it, I intended the portrait to be lit from the right. A herringbone pattern is kinda hard to recreate in PS. It's all filters over a gradient. Yes, the screen tone again. It's an addiction. I need an intervention or some sort of support group. And the quote is an in-joke with my friends.
i love the pixel art, the upper drawing doesnt look too much like u tho me thinks, still its really cool to see u dive into a randomly different style and have it come out so good!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

Sure I could have stayed, could have even been king. But in many ways I am king. Hail To The King Baby.
